Privacy Policy

Overview

Fairway Treasures (https://fairwaytreasures.co.uk) is a publishing site: guides about golf formats, kit and etiquette. This page explains what happens to your data when you read it. The short version is that almost nothing is collected today, and anything that changes will be reflected here first, not discovered later.

Information we collect

No account, sign-up or personal information is required to read anything on this site. We do not run advertising pixels or third party marketing scripts, and we do not maintain a mailing list or collect email addresses through the site. We do use Google Analytics (GA4), described below.

Analytics

Fairway Treasures uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, which guides get read and roughly how visitors reach the site, so we know what to write next. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view, and assigns your browser an identifier so repeat visits can be grouped together. This data is processed by Google and is not linked to your name or email address by us, since we do not collect either.

Google's own privacy policy explains what it does with this data and is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using a browser or extension that blocks analytics scripts.

Server logs and hosting

Like almost any website, Fairway Treasures is served by infrastructure that automatically logs basic technical information for every request, things like IP address, browser type and the page requested, purely to run the site and keep it secure. This is standard hosting-provider behaviour, is not tied to an identity, and is not something we separately collect, store or review.

Cookies

Fairway Treasures does not set cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and measure repeat visits, described in the Analytics section above. If a further feature is added later that requires its own cookie, it will be disclosed here and on the page it applies to before it goes live.

Links to other sites and affiliate disclosure

Guides on this site sometimes link to products or retailers relevant to the topic, for example a piece of golf kit mentioned in an article. Some of those links may in future be affiliate links, meaning Fairway Treasures could earn a small commission if you buy something after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Where that is the case, the article will say so. Clicking through to another site means that site's own privacy policy applies from that point on, not this one.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If an email list, a store, or advertising is added to the site, this page will be updated before any of them go live, and will describe what is collected and how to opt out. The date at the top of this page always reflects the last change.
